VR Training Programme

The Hospital, under the Hospital Authority, introduced a VR Training Program designed specifically for student midwives. The initiative used virtual reality training software built in a game format, creating an engaging and hands-on learning experience that supports real-world clinical skills development.

VR Training Software Designed as a Learning Game

Instead of using traditional training methods alone, the program delivered learning through an interactive VR game. This approach helps trainees stay focused while practicing key maternity procedures in a safe environment.

Simulation of Real Maternity Scenarios

The VR program was developed to replicate realistic maternity scenarios, allowing student midwives to experience clinical situations that reflect what they may encounter during placements. This includes exposure to patient interactions, ward-based routines, and scenario-based decision-making.

Interactive Virtual Patients

Trainees can interact with virtual patients during the simulation. By engaging directly with the patients in the virtual setting, students practice communication, assessment, and response while building confidence in maternity care tasks.
